CHARLES SCHWAB BIRDS OF PREY RACE COVERAGE
TO AIR ON VERSUS DECEMBER 9 AND 16
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado—For those who missed last week’s World Cup action in Beaver Creek or perhaps just didn’t get enough ski racing, Versus, formerly OLN, will air coverage of the Charles Schwab Birds of Prey World Cup Race Week on Sunday, December 9, with additional shows on Sunday, December 16.
The action will get underway December 9 at 2 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST) with an hour-long show on the Super Combined competition. Immediately following that show, at 3 p.m. MST, the Birds of Prey Downhill race will also air on Versus.
Viewers can relive Switzerland’s Daniel Albrecht’s Super Combined win during the first hour, along with a trio of American finishes in the top ten. The Downhill show will chronicle Austrian Michael Walchhofer’s first victory on Birds of Prey, as well as Steven Nyman’s runner-up performance and teammate Andrew Weibrecht’s amazing attack-from-the-back run that earned him a tenth place result.
Race action will continue on Sunday, December 16, again at 2 p.m. MST, with the Birds of Prey Giant Slalom race, while the 3 p.m. show will feature all the speed of the Super-G competition that was postponed to this past Monday.
Race fans can relive Albrecht’s second win in four days, along with American Ted Ligety’s fourth place showing during the first hour, while the second program will highlight the impressive Austrian sweep of the top three places in the Super-G as Hannes Reichelt successfully defended his Birds of Prey Super-G crown.
