BIRDS OF PREY MEN’S SUPER-G POSTPONED DUE TO STORM
    RESCHEDULED FOR 10 A.M. MONDAY, DECEMBER 3

BEAVER CREEK, Colorado—A winter storm that hit the central Rockies early Saturday morning has forced the postponement of Beaver Creek’s Birds of Prey Men’s World Cup Super-G competition. The race, originally slated for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday, will now be rescheduled on Monday, December 3, at 10 a.m. The decision extends the original Birds of Prey race schedule by one day. The storm dropped 7 inches of new snow on the Birds of Prey racecourse by 7 a.m. Saturday and race officials made the decision to postpone the race to Monday following the jury inspection. The snow is expected to continue on and off for the remainder of the day. “We’re fortunate to be in a position to reschedule the Super-G to Monday,” explained Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation. “We want to make sure we have the best and safest possible conditions for the racers, so this is a good decision. We want to thank everyone that has contributed to this event for their willingness to help us add an extra day to the program.” The Birds of Prey Men’s Giant Slalom competition, slated for Sunday is still scheduled for a 9:45 a.m. first run start, with the second run on tap for 12:45 p.m.
